Holiday Gift Guide Review & Giveaway: California Wine Club [[Ends 12/12]]

Pete and I were trying to figure out what to bring up to New York for Christmas. We were driving up Tuesday, staying overnight in Virginia, then driving up to New York. Pete wanted to cook, but we needed something that would travel well. And that would last. It would have to be made on Monday night and not eaten until Thursday.

What to bring?

Sangria.

We had two bottles of wine from the California Wine Club. Add a little brandy, triple sec, fruit, orange juice, and Sprite, and we were done.

That’s part of the appeal of the California Wine Club. There’s a good chance you will have wine around, in case you need it.

This was our second [[and, unfortunately final]] month of our California Wine Club subscription. Each month, you will get two bottles of wine in the mail. This month, the wine came wrapped in shiny bags, which we actually kept so that we can wrap holiday gifts in it. The shipment also came in my favorite new Styrofoam style. I’m still impressed with it.

It also came with a carrying case, in case we are bringing two bottles of wine to a friends’ house at once. I love this because it’s actually made to transport wine, so you don’t have to worry about it banging around in an oversized bag.
